Auction Display

  • Self maintained categories, featured items, and seller lists.
  • Items listed by category, set by the site owner.
  • Items with images provided (either uploaded or linked) displayed with automatically created thumbnail image. Accepts up to 6 images per item, automatically creating thumbnails and display HTML for each image.
  • Site owner sets the number of items displayed in a category list. Links to next results, as well as a drop down page menu, displayed when necessary.
  • Items displayed on category pages with current or starting bid, next bid, seller's name, ending date and time, and icons (for photos, new, ending, and reserve status). Items titles link to the individual display where the complete item information is available, including the bidding history, and specific seller rules.
  • Two levels of featured items. One for the main pages of the site, and another that displays on the top of the items' category list.
  • Tag system allowing you to place up 12 Top Items, 12 Top Bid Items, or 24 Random Items anywhere on your site. Updated automaticaly every half hour. See Strictly Bids Sports Auctions.
  • Bolding and attention grabbing arrow options available for display.
  • Search with any combination of seller, category, ending, and keyword. Wildcards (*) and exclusions (-) available in keyword searching.
  • Bids can be placed on the category lists (multiple item bidding), as well as from the items' individual display page.
  • Bidding

  • Bids accepted from registered bidders with password verification.
  • Single item, or Yankee/Dutch Auction bidding.
  • Reserve selling available, option of seller.
  • Minimum increases set by site owner. Options to use set amounts or percentage for up to 12 levels of increases.
  • Maximum bidding allows a bidder to enter the most they will bid on an item, and have the system bid on their behalf when necessary.
  • Optional One Bid setting (standard) which takes one bid and places the maximum bid automatically, eBay style.
  • Items may include a Buy Price which closes the item if the amount is reached. Buy Price now available on Dutch items, automatically adjusting quantity available.
  • Email notices sent to bidders when placing a bid, and when outbid on an item.
  • When a bid is not accepted, bidders may bid from the next screen without entering their password again. 
  • Bidders are prompted when bidding against a Maximum Bid.
  • Bids automatically raised as necessary with a Maximum Bid to meet reserve prices, and Maximum Bids, saving the bidder the extra steps.
  • Multiple bids may be placed at the same time for search results, member tracking, or category lists.
  • Auction Ending

  • Ending process runs automatically at a time set by the site owner. 
  • Ending process removes ended items from the Auction Display areas. 
  • Key Feature: Items won by one bidder, from one seller, in a given day are totaled and sent in one invoice style email.
  • Duplicate emails sent to the bidder and the seller, addressed to each other.
  • Results saved to both members Purchases/Sales transaction history.
  • Site Owner receives email that the process has been completed, which includes site statistics for that day. These stats include: item's viewed, bids, new sellers, new bidders, new items, closed items, with daily and all time stats for each.
  • Ending process concludes by creating the megalist index of all open items on the site for Bidfind indexing.
  • Members Area -- Bidding

  • In the members area a bidder can track all of the items they have bid on, or marked to watch from one page.
  • Items may be bid on from this page. One item at a time, or all at once.
  • Members may choose which emails they would like to receive from the site.
  • Members may set custom searches with the results delivered by email.
  • Members may update their contact info, and change their password here.
  • Purchase History for each member is accessed through this area. Members may view transactions by date and seller in this section.
  • Members may leave feedback on transactions with other members here.
  • Members Area -- Managing Auctions

  • Easy item entry form. Description areas support HTML. Up to 6 images may be uplioaded per item.
  • Custom listing forms can now be created for any type of items. This allows the flexibility to add database fields for tracking additional info. This is especially helpful in the listing of autos, real estate, horses, and many other items. Each custom listing form also includes a custom display for the auction item.

    Custom listing forms are created for you at an additional cost.

  • Options for auction items include quantity available, reserve selling, buy price, featured status, item bolding, attention grabbing arrows, and choice of ending date and time.
  • Sellers may upload images to the auction server directly from the browser.
  • Single Seller Sites may include a Consignor ID (matches Member ID). Consignor may log in to the Members Area and track the progress of the consigned auctions. Requires Template Changes (no fee).
  • Auction items may be previewed or saved directly to the auction.
  • Auction items may be created and saved for later use.
  • Auctions may be edited and features may be added after item is created, as long as there are no bids present.
  • Seller has the option of providing standard shipping and payment fields, customizing the winning item email message, providing rules specific to their auctions, and maintaining a seller home page that lists their items, and whatever text they choose to enter.
  • Seller may relist auction items that have closed.
  • Seller may upload auction item lists created in any database program (Access, Excel etc.), provided they can export to a format of pipes, tabs, or commas.
  • Leave Feedback for other members.
  • Sellers may view their account status from a browser, with yearly and monthly totals, and detailed activity history available.
  • After the Sale

  • All members may log in to view their recent transactions in the members area. The Purchases/Sales section allows a member to View Transactions, Leave Feedback, Send Email Reminders, Payment Received, and Item Shipped Notices with the click of a link.
  • Sellers may integrate with Paypal automatically by providing their PayPal email address. Buyers are able to pay through a form provided in the After Sale area.

  • The Site Manager is an online tool for the administrator of an auction site. The Site Manager is very complete, and allows an entire auction site to be managed from a browser if you wish.

    Display Templates

  • Templates are the key software element that enable simple customization, global changes, and creativity to be added to an auction site without changing the core of the software. This translates into saving money and time, since the skill level required to maintian an auction site is lessened significantly. See the demonstration site manager for a first hand look.
  • Custom Templates can now be created to make any webpage. Use the site settings and import timely auction info to any page you would like to add to the website.

    Revenue and Billing

  • Revenue is generated on an auction site by tracking the activity of the sellers of the site.
  • Ability to enter any type of transaction to bill a member for services other than the auction services. (EX: Monthly Fees, Banner Fees, etc.). These transactions may also be set to recur automatically.
  • Optional fees are available for: Item Insertions (3 levels), Sales Fees (3 levels), Image Upload, Featured auctions, item bolding, and attention grabbing arrows.
  • Listing and Sales commissions can be customized to meet most any need. (Ex: Price by category, etc.) Additonal programming fees likely.
  • The program will adapt well to any banner rotation program.
  • Additional revenue sources for a site might include selling ad space in email messages, special arrangements with volume sellers, as well as pay-per-click banners such as through safe-audit and clicktrade.
  • Billing is done on a monthly basis through the Site Manager. Your sellers will receive email invoices with the click of a button. The sellers may view their detailed invoices online at any time.
  • Easily integrate with PayPal to accept invoice payments from your members, and account for these payments once made.
